Hello, Surely you are eligible for the NET Exam if you have completed your Post graduation. If you are preparing for lectureship so age limit criteria is not the mandatory. But in JRF age limit is mandatory (maximum 30 years for General and maximum 35 years for OBC/ST/SC/PWD), so work harder to qualifying the NET Exam. UGC NET is a national level entrance exam through which candidates are awarded for Junior Research Fellowship and for the lectureship. Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the UGC NET Examination on behalf of UGC. Recently the Board has announced the notification for conducting UGC NET 2018 Exam. The exam will be held on 8 July 2018. Its essential for an aspirant to have complete study material for preparation. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks in their Masters degree exams (in streams such as Humanities, Social Science, Electronic Science, Computer Science & Applications, etc. ). From a UGC recognised college/ university fulfill UGC NET 2018 eligibility criteria. It may be noted minimum percentage required to meet UGC NET eligibility criteria for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD categories is 50%. Please check for detailed eligibility required to appear for the NET exam from the criteria mentioned at the link provided below:

Candidates who are appearing or awaiting results for their final year examination of Masters degree are also eligible to appear for UGC NET 2018. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and will be considered for JRF and Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor only when they pass their Masters exams with required percentage. Such candidates must complete their PG degree examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified, informs the official website. Hello Shweta, Yes, you are eligible for the assistant professor post only through UGC NET Exam. The UGC NET Exam is conducted for the assistant professor in national universities and junior research fellowship award. The eligibility for the UGC NET exam is as follows:
