To be eligible for the UGC NET Exam, you need to have completed the Master's degree. The UGC NET Exam is conducted by the CBSE for the assistant professor and junior research fellowship awards. The eligibility for the UGC NET is as follows; https://www.eduncle.com/cbse-ugc-net-exam

Hello,
The candidates who are from the Arts, Humanities or the Commerce subjects are eligible for the UGC NET Exam. The candidate in 2nd Year of Masters and candidates those who have completed their Masters degree is eligible for the exam
You must secure 55 % Marks in Masters if you are from general category as well as 50 % Marks in OBC/SC/ST/PWD candidates

Majority of the colleges and universities look for a regular degree to apply for assistant professor. You need to check the requirement of the college/university where you wish to apply if they would consider your distance learning degrees.

Yes, of course. Anyone who has Master's degree with UGC recognised University or any lther equivalent institute like AICTE etc. may apply for NET.

The candidate who has secured at least 55%marks in their master's degree is eligible for the test. For (Sc/OBC/ST/PWD) at least 50% in their Master's degree are eligible.

As you are a M.Sc first year student, you are not eligible for UGC NET at present. After completion of M.Sc, or when you are in final semester, you can apply for UCG NET exam.
