Yes, the University of Bolton has changed its name to the University of Greater Manchester. It was changed in the year 2024. The university celebrated its 200th year anniversary in 2025. This university was founded in 1824. Also, this university has been ranked at No. 1 for student satisfaction in North West as per Times and Sunday Times 2025.

The students can apply to the University of Greater Manchester through the university representative or any agent in your country. Alternatively, students can apply online to the university. Admission intakes at this university are June and September.

BNU & University of Bolton are both part of the best institutions in the UK, the BNU attains a country-level rank of #115, while Bolton attains a rank of #124 as part of the latest Shiksha Popularity Rankings.

However, both institutions are also selective to varying degrees, with the BNU acceptance rate standing at around 96%, while Bolton's stands at 70%.  

Thus, it can be said that the Buckinghamshire New University, is relatively easier to secure admissions at as compared to University of Bolton.

Considering the acceptance rates of both the universities, it can be said Wrexham University UK is more selective. It has an acceptance rate between 47% - 53% and the University of Bolton acceptance rate is around 70%. However, in terms of rankings in the Complete University Guide, Bolton University ranks better at #111 in 2025. Wrexham University's rank is #130 in 2025 in Complete University Guide Rankings in 2025.
