Hello Ritvik,
The admission into VIT University is based on an entrance exam called VITEEE. If you have a good rank in that exam, then you can get admission easily.
There are seats based on your rank and the fee structure varies for those seats in the name of categories. This is another way of getting admission by paying more fees if you appear in that exam. For direct admission that is management quota, you may contact the admin.

I don't know much about mechanical engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology but I can tell you what mechanical engineering is from Manipal Institute of Technology.
First of all, craze of mechanical engineering is increasing day by day. Secondly, it is very difficult to get a seat in good colleges for mechanical engineering. Mechanical branch of Manipal Institute of Technology is rated very high in India.
Mechanical branch of Manipal offers SRF - Student Research Forum for students to go deep into concept and discover the hidden concepts in their areas of Interest. This makes them become good engineers. Apart from this, there are

Hello Abhishek,
All these three universities are the top colleges for CSE. But in terms of rankings, VIT University tops the list. While SRM University ranks second and Manipal Institute of Technology is at the third.
So my preference order would be :
1) VIT University, Vellore
2) SRM University main campus
3) Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal.
You may refer the links below for the complete list of placements :

Please mention your rank in VITEEE with marks. I think it's too late for deciding to join VIT, Vellore or Chennai campus because in both the campus admission has been closed for all the branches but for your information I can say that if your rank is good like under 6000 then there will be many options for you in terms of branches including you can get CSE branch also with some specialisation here. Also whatever fee structure you have seen in brochure is just for category 1, not other categories if your rank is low then also you can get CSE branch but fee structure will change for you means fee structure of category in which you are.

All the teachers are partly dependable. I speak from my personal experience. If the scripts are given to a different teacher, you may be disappointed. I suggest that you should do your best and then depend on your teacher.

Hello Prabhu,
VIT-Vellore does not offer lateral entry admissions. You need to take VITEEE which is the entrance exam for admission into undergraduate programs in VIT-Vellore.
