In which category will I fall if my VIT rank is 23543? Which branch can I get?

Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank, and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there are 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, but you have to pay more for that. With this rank you will get civil or electronics in VIT, Vellore in phase one. I got 27K rank in VIT. Can I get CSE or IT in Vellore campus?

Yes, you can get CS or IT but in a third category in which you have to pay more for that. Let me explain you the admission system here. I have got 18000 rank in VIT exam and want mechanical. If I didn't get this, which branch should I choose? I want a seat in phase 1 only.

Either you should score rank in the first category that is till 10000 rank or you have to find some source means politics quota and all that stuff, to get admission there because there isn't another way other than this. You will get CSE core in VIT Vellore campus so you should definitely choose that because placements of CSE, IT, ECE are pretty good here. This is not government college and not private college first of all so cast reservation aren't allowed here. You will get fee reimbursement by VIT if you will score good rank in VIT.
