At my admission time, there was only Vellore and Chennai branch two years ago and these branches are recently opened by VIT. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000. So, you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well with each category admission fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank but there are 2nd category as well if you want CSE but you have to pay more for that. VIT has nothing to do with 10+2 marks but for the eligibility, it should be more than 60% in physics, chemistry and maths, you have to give the VITEEE exam to get admission.

VIT University will conduct the VITEEE 2018 counselling in offline mode for qualified candidates from May 9 to 11, 2018 for Phase I. The counselling of VITEEE 2018 for Phase II will be held from May 14 to 18. However, the counselling of VITEEE only at VIT Bhopal Campus for Phase II will be held on May 19 and 20. To participate in VITEEE counselling 2018, candidates need to visit the designated counselling venue as per their ranks and the scheduled time. I don't think this course is available in VIT. I don't hear about this course in VIT from my friends. So, it is better to search for another college.

The eligibility criteria for VIT-Vellore is a minimum of 60% marks in an undergraduate degree (minimum 3 years duration after 10+2) from a recognised university/institute.
Only the candidates who have studied in regular full-time programmes are eligible to apply.
After applying for the college, you will be called for a written assessment test (WAT) and a personal interview (PI).
The final selection will be made based on the merit list using a composite score with the following components:
Academic Performance
Profile-Work Experience, Awards and Recognition, etc.
WAT & PI score
Management Aptitude Test Score.
