It's great that you have scored 22000 rank in open general category. To participate in the counselling process, you need to visit JoSAA portal. You can participate in the counselling process from anywhere. You can fill the counselling form from your home also. After college allocation, you need to visit the college for documents verification.

I guess, CSE would be a little difficult, but you can try for ECE.

920 is no doubt a good rank and one can get any branch of his/her own choice. Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robot Process Automation are the upcoming technologies. So, CSE with AI is no doubt a good career option.

B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering with Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning is better option. 920 is a good rank and one can get any branch of his/her choice at this rank.

CS in UPES is better as in UPES we have 95% placement for CS students and faculty is very good.

Just visit the campus with DD of the fee mentioned in the email with all the documents. Upon your choice of branch they will give you admission in B.Tech programme. The fee details is as mentioned in the mail which VIT sent you before the time of counselling.

A rank below 30k can make you get a seat in VIT for electronics and instrumentation engineering.

You may get admission there but I am not so sure about this. As in 2015, the closing rank for mechanical engineering was 39000 and from 2015, we saw that a gradual decrease in demand of engineering courses it is a point of hope for you. I would suggest you to appear in the counseling and go till the final round. Rather than VITEE, you should try for some other ways too.

If you fulfill the eligibility criteria of the specific institute you may complete further admission formalities. With this rank, you can't get VIT Main campus and other in other campus also. You might get the college, but getting good branch may be difficult for you.
