Candidates needs to fill out an online application on the university's official website, provided they pass the eligibility criteria for their selected course. For MBA and MCA courses, students need to first pass national-level entrance examinations like TANCET or ATMA, after they fulfil the eligibility basis. For a few UG and PG courses, admissions are merit-based. Once the candidate is selected, he needs to undergo counseling and fee payment to secure the seat.

To make sure that students show sufficient comprehension and competency in the courses, Bharathiar University sets passing scores for the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) programme on both internal and end-semester exams. The minimal passing scores for the internal evaluation, which normally consists of assignments, tests, projects, and class participation, are typically approximately 50% of the total internal scores allotted for each topic. Students must pass the end-of-semester tests with at least 40% of their written exam scores. Nonetheless, to be deemed successful in the course, students must frequently achieve a combined score (internal + external exam marks) of at least 50% in each paper to meet the overall passing criteria.
