Career opportunities available for Biotechnology post-graduates include positions in research institutes, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical & nutraceutical sectors, pharmacovigilance, fermentation industries, food and dairy industries and bioenergy sector. To apply for Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech. Lateral Entry) at CUSAT, candidates must have a three-year Diploma in engineering/technology with at least 60% marks. The admission is through the CUSAT Common Admission Test. Candidates can apply for the programme by visiting the CUSAT website and following the admission process. The eligibility criteria and admission process are as follows:
Any three-year Diploma in engineering/technology awarded by a Board of Technical Education recognised by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala, with not less than 60% marks.
Candidates who have completed 3-year Diploma in Plastic Technology and Diploma in Plastic Mould Technology offered by CIPET with not less than 60% marks are eligible for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Lateral Entry.
Admission is through the CUSAT Common Admission Test.
The duration of the programme is 6 semesters, with entry to the third semester of the regular B.Tech program.
Candidates can seek admission only to the branch of engineering/technology in which they possess a diploma. Additionally, candidates should be on permanent technical/professional employment for at least two years at the time of application after passing the Diploma examination in any of the following types of establishments: Government Organizations, Quasi-Government Organizations, Industrial firm duly registered under Society's Act, Public or Private limited companies registered under Companies Act, and Government.
