Yes, CUSAT considers Class 12 score for admission to UG courses. Aspirants need to qualify a minimum of Class 12 to apply for a UG course at CUSAT. Below are some of the CUSAT UG programme along with their Class 12 requirement:

Looking at the previous-year General All-India CUSAT CAT ranks for BTech, there is a less chance of getting into the programme with a rank of 12,000. Candidates can get a seat but not in top specialisations like Computer Science Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship Building, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, etc. Students must secure a rank under 1,000 to get a seat in the preffered BTech specialisation at CUSAT.

CUSAT admission to BTech course is based on CUSAT CAT score. The university also conducts a Lateral Entry Test (LET) to select candidates for BTech (LE) courses. LET is a three-hour test including 200 objective-type questions designed to test proficency in English, Mathematics, Engineering Mechanics, Engineering Graphics and General Engineering.

The university selects candidates for BTech (PT) courses based on merit in the last qualifying exam and admission test conducted by the department. CUSAT also considers the number of years of experience of candidates after obtaining the diploma.

CUSAT admission to Integrated BSc-MSc programme is based on CUSAT CAT score. CUSAT CAT or Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test is a computer-based test conducted for shortlisting aspirants for admission to various courses. After completion of selection rounds, CUSAT releases a rank list based on total marks secured in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry subjects. A separate rank list is released for selected Integrated BSc-MSc specialisation. Based on the rank list, aspirants are called for counselling and document verification round.

Candidates need to qualify CUSAT CAT to get admission to Integrated BSc-MSc programmes. The university releases course-wise cutoff rank list. As per the below 2023 closing rank for All India Category, the highest was 29 for Biological Science. The lowest rank was of 62 of Physical and Mathematics. Candidates aspiring to pursue M.Tech from CUSAT shall have BE/BTech/Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum 60% aggregate. The selection is further done by the university committee basis on the applicant’s score in the qualifying examinations (GATE/CUSAT DAT).

Aspirants need to fill out the online form (admission.cusat.ac.in) and submit it for being eligible to take admission. However, the seat allotment for each M.Tech programme shall be on the applicant’s GATE score. Candidates without a GATE exam score can take CUSAT DAT/ Sections A and B exam by the Institution of Engineers (India).

CUSAT Kochi offers BTech course to students at the UG level. It is offered for 4 years in several specialisations.
