For reserved category students, the admission criteria for Integrated B.Sc. + M.Sc. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) at CUSAT is a minimum of 50% in Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations, Government of Kerala or Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education or the Indian School Certificate Examination (Class XII) conducted by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto.

Admission to the Integrated B.Sc. + M.Sc. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) course at CUSAT is based on a candidate passing with a minimum of 50% in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examinations, Government of Kerala, or equivalent examinations.

For B.Tech in Naval Architecture and Ship Building at CUSAT, the eligibility criteria include:
- Pass in Plus Two examination of the State of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent by the Universities in Kerala with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics put together.
- Admission is based on the rank list prepared by giving equal weightage to the marks in the qualifying examination and the score in the entrance test (CET) conducted by the university.

CUSAT is strict when it comes to the eligibility requirements of M.Sc. in Forensic Science. The candidate should have a minimum of 60% marks for the plus two examinations if he/she pursued Science group, and 55% for commerce/arts/humanities stream. Additionally, candidates belonging to SC/ST communities or SEBC communities are entitled to seek admission with a pass in the plus two examination with 50% marks.

For the B.Tech. in Marine Engineering at CUSAT, the eligibility criteria for reserved category candidates are the same as for general category candidates, with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks and minimum 50% for Mathematics alone. However, there is a 5% relaxation in the eligibility marks for SEBC students and a pass in the qualifying examination for SC/ST students.

The CUSAT offers admission to the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examinations, with a minimum of 50% or equivalent CGPA grade, and mathematics at the 10+2 level or as a part of their graduation curriculum.
