The chances of you getting placed will be doubled if you do your M.Tech or MS in material sciences or metallurgy. The demand for metallurgical engineers is growing these days. Government organisations like DRDO, DRDL, etc. offer a wide range of opportunities. Also, private companies like shell, Liners India, Tata Steel, Reliance, etc. offer some very interesting jobs. So all those students really interested in material science can take up this really interesting branch and stop worrying about the placements.

Hello Snehankit,
Your category rank should be below 200, so that you may get a seat at IIT Bombay. Whatever be the score, if your rank is good, you can get a seat as the cut-off scores changes every year.

Hello Sukanya,
Yes, definitely you can. JEE Mains is an exam that would enable admission in first year of NITs. For lateral admission into 2nd year, there is normally no exam since it's based on marks obtained in Diploma.

First of all if you have enough capacity to imagine and visualize then opt for B.Des. IIT, Bombay's first batch is still to be placed but IIT, Guwahati placements were awesome, 10 lakhs minimum and average around 20 lakhs.

Hello Sumedha,
I am very happy that you are dreaming and dreaming big. IIT Mumbai is the top draw for Aeronautical Engineering branch.
Regular studies, exercise and pranayama are the best thing in achieving your dreams. Plan a schedule that covers all this every day. Take mock tests. May be join a coaching institute. These will teach you how to answer quickly. That's it.
Best wishes.
