Even popular branches such as Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) have a closing rank that is normally less than 100 (e.g. about 60-70). In other competitive courses such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering rank position is usually required in the range of 200-1800. Offices that are less competitive may accept up to 4000-7000 in terms of ranks depending on the year and category. Targeting All India Rank (AIR) which is top 1500, puts you in a great advantage in multiple programs.
