The Manipal School of Architecture & Planning was absorbed by Bangalore University in 1980 and renamed the Department of Architecture. Later, in October 2003, MAHE (Manipal Academy of Higher Education) renamed the department the Faculty of Architecture, which was later renamed Manipal School of Architecture & Planning (MSAP) in April 2018. Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, offers entrance-based admissions. This means that candidates must take the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET) UG exam, which is administered by the NTA (National Testing Agency), and achieve the minimum cutoff rank and marks in order to be admitted to the BDS program. In India, the NEET exam is the sole entrance exam for admission to various medical courses, including BDS. The NEET exam is given once a year, usually in May or June.
