for eg. B.Tech, B.com, BBA, BCA, B.Sc, pharma,hospital, etc.
also you have to give the paper of MET and you should have a min. of 60% in your graduation.

See what you have to understand is that GD/PI play a very small but crucial role in your merit. yes you have to prepare for your GD and PI.
For GD
1. try to know about the current topics like budget , international news etc.
2 get knowledge about management issue that are prevailing in the industry.
Eg. of GD questions asked: Is smartphone making us smarter or dumb
is corruption important to climb career ladder.
these are some of the questions of topics that might be given. so prepare accordingly.
For PI
get your introduction clear. and crisp as the introduction will decide the course of your interview. next prepare about your background qualification that is your graduation just the basics as they will ask questions regarding it . Also they will ask you some realistic question like why UIAMS and so on. so please be prepared accordingly
Now language though matter a lot but it will not be taken that importantly as we at UIAMS try to enhance that skill of a student as well.so try to speak as much as possible in ENGLISH .what ever you know don't hesitate to speak in which ever way you can but try it in English.this will give you extra marks

Only M.A. (Eco) is not good enough to get a attractive placement you should add professional degree to get good package although based on your MA (Eco.) you can get a job in teaching field as an Assistant Professor after passing the qualifying exam like NET.

Yes it is necessary to give GD.
your MET paper weighs 85% of the total and the GD and Personal interview combined is 15%. combining the score of both and then the final merit list is prepared.
so do well in the written exam and you will definitely get a seat in UIAMS
