Admission with Class 12 percentage depends on the UG course in which students want to enroll. Admission of some courses i.e. BCom, BA, etc. is merit-based. However, some courses require marks obtained in the entrance exam such as CUET, JEE Main, NEET, etc. Students must visit the website to know eligibility of preferred courses.
The answer is both yes and no. admission to all MBA courses is entrance-based at all the MBA offering institutes of PU. While for an Integrated MBA, students need a valid score in JEE Main exam, admission to UBS and UIAMS is subject to a valid score in CATor PU METexams, respectively. Students who wish to get into the specialisations or courses offered by UIAMS are required to appear for PU MET exam and those who wish to get into UBS are required to have a valid score in CAT exam.
The eligibility requirements for BCom programme at Punjab University might differ according to candidate type. For general category students, the lowest percentage in class 12th is 50%. There can be a relaxation for SC/ST, OBC, PwD candidates who belong to reserved category. Panjab Univeresity MBA admissions are entirely entrance-based. For admission to MBA course at UBS and UIAMS, candidates must have a valid score of either CAT or PU MET exams, respectively. The eligibility criteria for MBA course is to pass graduation with minimum 50% aggregate in the relevant stream. Candidates qualifying all the selection parameters will be offered seat via a university-level counselling process.
In order to be eligible to pursue MBA from a PU-affiliated institute, students must have completed their UG degrees with at least 50% aggregate. However, those with a Diploma must have at least 60% aggregate in it and along with that have at least five years of research/ teaching/ professional experience. Final admission, however, is subject to a valid score in MET exam conducted by Panjab University for MBA admission followed by GD and PI. 85% of the total final selection weightage is allocated to the MET exam and the remaining 15% of admission chances are based on the performance of the candidates in GD and PI. The application fee for MBA at Panjab University Chandigarh is INR 2,710 for General category candidates. For admission to the three-year LLB programme offered by Panjab University, candidates must appear for PU LLB Entrance Test and score well. Shortlisted students will have their names appear in the merit lists. Those with their names can pay the admission fee and confirm their seat in the university. Before entrance, candidates are required to meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the university which is a pass in any bachelor’s/ master’s degree in stream with at least 45% aggregate from Panjab University or any other University recognised by the Bar Council of India and Panjab University. As per the internet, BA at PU is offered across Economics, History, Sociology and Psychology specialisation, among others. Candidates seeking admission to UBS and UIAMS for MBA are required to fulfil different eligibility criteria for MBA admission. The same is as follows (institute-wise):
- UBS: Any UG/PG degree with 50% aggregate with a valid score in CAT exam.
- UIAMS: Any relevant UG or PG degree with 50% aggregate, such as BE/ BTech/ BCA/ AMIE/ UG degree in Pharmacy/ MBBS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BDS/ BPharma/ BPT/ BSc (Nursing)/ BVoc (Hospital Mgmt.).
Admission for this course is made on the basis of merit determined by scores of the aspirants in the Management Entrance Test (MET) conducted by PU, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
The total fee for BTech ranges from INR 92,460 to INR 5.6 lakh. This fee, however, is sourced from an unofficial source. Hence, is indicative. Other than the course fee, students are required to pay the registration fee for JEE Main, JAC Chandigarh, PU LEET or PU MEET depending on their admission process. The fee for JEE Main application form for General/ Gen-EWS/ OBC (NCL) male candidates is INR 650 for a single paper while SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender and Female candidates are required to pay application fees of INR 325. The application fee for JAC Chandigarh is INR 2,800 and the same for PU LEET and PU MEET is INR 2,175 and INR 2,500, respectively.

To get Aadmission in LLM at Punjab University, candidates are required to secure minimum 55% at their Bachelor's degree and also secure a minimum of 80% in the University's based entrance exam. Panjab University conducts PUTHAT for admission to BHMCT and BTTM programmes. Starting with the application, interested candidates are required to go through the course-specific entrance exam followed by other selection rounds (PUTHAT in this case). After the selection rounds are over, course-wise merit lists are released on the official website with the names of the shortlisted candidates.
