Although chances of getting Computer Science Engineering is low, but it must be your first preference at the time of counselling. Your preference should be like computer science engineering, information technology, electronics engineering, electrical, civil, mechanical etc. In the first round, she will get information technology, then in second or third round, she might get computer science engineering, if she is lucky enough.

If you want to gain good knowledge, and study a lot then SASTRA is the place for you. If you are looking for a great social and extracurricular life, then SASTRA is not the place for you. There are lots of placements happening in CSE and IT departments in Sastra University. In my knowledge, the highest package is 20 LPA from PayPal and the lowest being TCS for 3.25 LPA. I have also heard of packages greater than 20 LPA (27 LPA if I am not wrong), but yes, SASTRA is good for CSE and IT.
