Average student life at SASTRA.
Placements: The University Placement Cell brings CS/IT companies. The placement cell is based for them. Expect some good companies. Our branch placement is very less. Tata Construction, L&T, Aditya Construction – these 3 companies hire students. The top package is 4.5 Lacs by L&T in the design department. 30% of students are placed with the help of the college, while others are searching for jobs. For us, no internship is provided by the college. We need to find it ourselves.
Infrastructure: The outer college look is good, but honestly, the infrastructure is not good. There is an issue in the canteen; it does not have proper meals. Campus rules are very strict: no ragging, no roaming in class hours. The college library is the best. They have all books, like Construction Management, Cost Finder, etc. For the survey, we have a big ground. The hostel is good, but there is a problem with the rooms. The rooms are small for 3 students, and the food is not good. Sometimes there are electricity issues.
Faculty: Teachers are very theory-oriented; they only judge students based on their marks, for them marks are everything. Teaching quality is not good. There is a lack of practical sessions. The syllabus is from SASTRA. We have professors in all topics according to industry and future scope. Semester exams are separated. 50 marks for internal, which are converted into 30, and 70 marks for the final exam. 35 is the passing criteria.

Sastra student life in B.Tech .
Placements: 50 to 70 percent of students are placed and they are placed with an average package of 15 LPA in CSE, 12 LPA in ECE and 10 LPA in IT branches. The top recruiting companies are Tata, Texas, Bosch, and IBM. The minimum percentage required for students to get a placed is 75 percent.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is above average; they provide college Wi-Fi, which is secured to some restricted apps; and for every student, only one laptop should be allowed to connect to Wi-Fi. The library is top-class; all types of books are available; hostels are well maintained but the food taste is not nice; the types of food are more varied; medical facilities are also available; they provide sick rooms and vehicles to transport from hostel to sick room; all types of grounds are there; there are three canteens with all types of food.
Faculty: Teaching quality is excellent, but for some courses scholars are allowed to teach, which is not acceptable. Lecturers provide there respective subject pdfs for studying, and they conduct some class tests for grip on topics. The average pass percentage for the semester exam level is 80 percent, and the curriculum is nice .
Other: There is no entrance exam to get a seat; for entering the college, students need a minimum of 950 plus marks in there respective state boards in intermediate, and the JEE Main percentile is also useful; for example, 985 plus marks are required for getting a seat in the CSE branch or ( 970 plus 96 percentile in Main) helps to get a seat.

SASTRA University is far better than some of the lower NITs in India.
Placements: More than 90 percent of students who do not have any backlogs got placed with a company. The average package offered here was 8–9 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Bosch, and many other top companies. More than 75 percent of the students got an internship, and more than 95 percent of the students who got internships were placed with the same company. Top roles which were offered was web develops, data.
Infrastructure: Air conditioned labs, Wi-Fi classrooms were actually a major infrastructure facilities provided by sastra. Hostel facilities were also provided. Most of the time, the food will be tasty. Medical facilities are available inside the campus itself. The hostel is available both inside and outside for boys, and only inside for girls. The food that is provided in the mess seems to be okay for survival. The taste of the food is getting better these days. Sports, games, and a gym are available in the student activity center, which is open to all students.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful when we sought them out in private for guidance. Research paper publication is one of the most anticipated guidances provided by the professors in SASTR. The difficult rating of the SASTR semester exam question paper varies from 3.5 to 4 out of 5. Most of the question papers are set by the faculty members who teach the corresponding subject, and setting the question papers is tricky these days. The pass percentage varies from 70 to 50 out of 100, and most of the students pass with high internals. On the whole, hard work equals success.
Other: I chose this course because love coding and I am also interested in the internet of things and data Science. Here many clubs are available through which we can get our future bright in coding. Annual cultural fest is called as "kurukSastra", which is one of the most anticipated and expected fests of sastra.

Sastra College is a very good college.
Placements: Students have a CGPA between 7.5 and above get placed. The highest package offered was 27 lacs and the lowest package was 4 lacs with an average package of 7 lacs. JP Morgan, Amazon, PayPal, and Tara consultancy services are the top companies visiting for hiring. Around 83 percent of the students got internships in JP Morgan, PayPal, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: We have updated labs for coding, they use projectors for teaching in the classes. 24/7 Wi-Fi is available and the classrooms are so large having speakers for the last benchers to hear the lectures clearly. Food was too good in our college and it is very hygienic. We have sports activities like cricket, football, etc.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful. They use new teaching methods in coding with the latest technology. Maximum number of teachers have done Masters in their respective subjects. Semester exams are very difficult. Passing percentage of the semester exams is 50%. Curriculum is very relevant and they update according to the latest technology.
Other: I like coding and working with the computers so I chose this course. The best thing in my course are that leavening depends on the brain’s thinking levels, not on luck or remembrance.

Placements: By completing the course, we can start our own venture and give jobs to others. But college placement is honestly high; many diagnostics private hire most students. Span Diagnostics, Papersens Pvt. Ltd., and Arya Vaidya Nilam Pvt. Ltd.'s salaries were different for all companies. The average 4,50,000 per year package offered by many companies. In the syllabus, we need to complete at least one internship.
Infrastructure: Honesty infrastructure looks beautiful, but it has some problems. The canteen is mainly bad, and some benches are in bad condition. Wi-Fi is available on campus. In labs all equipment medical chemical are available for experiments sessions. The college hostel is good, but the food is bad; the quality is poor. No medical facilities are promised during admission.
Faculty: College teachers are very strict, with strict timing and a strict timetable followed by both teachers and students. But I feel it is too strict; no one can attend any lecture; 75% attendance is compulsory. All study material and assignments should be submitted before the deadline. Our course is very rare; there are only a few colleges that offer it. It is in high demand in the industry and government sectors.
Other: The GATE score is considered at the time of admission. Only canteen conditions need to improve.

Q:   I got 79 percentile in JEE Mains and 66% in Class 12. Will I get admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur?

A:

Based on the information you've provided, your JEE Mains percentile of 79 is decent and could be a competitive score for admission to Sastra University, Thanjavur. However, your class 12 percentage of 66% might be slightly below the usual cutoff for some courses at the university. To increase your chances of admission, I recommend checking Sastra University's official website or contacting their admission department for the specific cutoff scores and eligibility criteria for the course you are interested in.

Sastra University is known for its competitive admission process, and the cutoff marks can vary each year. It's essential to have a clear understanding of the admission requirements and eligibility criteria to make an informed decision.

In case your JEE Mains percentile meets or exceeds the cutoff set by Sastra University for your desired course, you stand a good chance of getting admission. However, if the cutoff is higher, you may consider other options or explore different courses that align with your JEE Mains score and class 12 percentage.

Remember, admissions to universities can be competitive, and it's always a good idea to have backup options. There are many other reputable institutions that offer quality education in engineering and other fields. Research thoroughly, consider all available choices, and apply to multiple universities to increase your chances of getting accepted.

I wish you the best of luck with your admission process, and I hope you find the right university and course that aligns with your academic goals and aspirations!"

A:
For admission to BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at SASTRA Deemed-to-be University, it is a mandatory requirement to have an IPE score to check in at sastra. As per the research that I've done, with your score, it could be a little difficult to get CSE. If you are college specific you can try for other branches.
  • Minimum criteria for Stream 1: IPE + JEE - 975 above IPE and 35,000 below JEE rank
  • Stream 2: 985 above IPE score.
