Since only 30% of the seats is filled by stream 2, the competition for it is heavier. ICT has a strength of about 60 people per batch, so that would make you compete for the 20 seats. Getting above 97% will keep you in a safer side.

If you are not from Thanjavur or Trichy it is impossible in stream. You can try in stream 2 though. They only consider board marks there. Best of luck!!

If you are asking for lateral entry (entering directly to second year after completing polytechnic course of 3 years), then he can. They will conduct a training program for a month during April-May and then admit by conducting counseling for the lot who attended the training. If you are asking, if he can join second year engineering after completing first year in another college, then the answer is no. He has to start all over from the first year.

Your counselling call will depend on your AIR (All India Rank) which is determined by the aggregate percentile in respective streams. It all depends on the paper difficulty and other parameters. But as a thumb rule, 170+ in JEE Mains should guarantee you a seat in at least any of the course.

Hello, Vasanth,
Lets talk about job opportunities in India: Almost completely none (until you want to be a teacher or have connections in ISRO and HAL).
How do I know that because I am graduating in aerospace engineering.
Reason are:-
1. B.Tech is a basic degree and does not qualify you for any job in Aero industry which needs experts or atleast good people in any specific area.
2. No home based full fledged aerospace industries in India.
3. ISRO or DRDO or HAL maybe your only option if you want to do some serious work in aerospace. Sounds hard enough?
Suggestions:
1. Do a M.Tech from IIT or an MS(would be awesomeee!)
2. Research. Do something of your own, unique, while pursuing your degree. Books hold no meaning in aerospace without your imagination.
3. Try and get into a JRF program.

As far as B.Sc course is concerned, Sastra offers it's best faculty and research areas. You have scholars who are working for past 3 decades. Physics is best option, as far as my concern, if you are interested in that, please choose Sast

I guess it's hard to find a seat in sastra. because you need at least 90% for your choice if department in the counselling. but however luck prevails you just apply for the counselling. wish u good luck
