It will be better to take admission in Sastra University than to take a drop.
It is not that by taking drop you will get admission in IITs.

Hello Ravi!
Your score is not bad but your chances to get a seat at a Sastra University is a little low. Even if you get a seat you may not get the top courses like CSE, mechanical, electronics, IT, etc. If you have appeared for JEE main, then

Yes, you can get a seat at Sastra University. Your marks are good enough get a seat and think you can also get ECE branch for sure.
Those who have appeared for JEE main exam can apply to Sastra University through stream 1.
Your marks will be converted into percentile as below:
95(0.25)+95.2(0.75)=95.15
On this basis, the ranks will be put. I think the counselling starts from 19 June.
The website to apply is www.sastra.edu and the last date to apply is June 10. You also need to send a courier of your application form, 10th and 12th mark sheet (photocopy) and also the JEE score card (result page).

I have scored 155 cutoff and 950 marks out of 1200. Should I take chemical engineering or B.Sc in chemistry?

So if you have appeared for JEE then you can apply through stream 1or you have to apply through stream 2 only.
B.Sc chemistry has no value but if you do atleast an M.Sc then it has some value. You can become a professor. If you do Ph.D then you will be getting a huge salary in a private university.
In case of chemical engineering, there is a better scope when compared to B.Sc chemistry. So you can take that to have a good salary job. It is not a competitive stream but you need to work hard.
