The hostel room allotment also can depend on availibilty of hostel and can be prioritized for merit ranking.

There are variety of entrance exams accepted by Mysore University for its MBA program. The most commonly used is the Karnataka Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET), used for both university and state-level admissions. The university also considers scores from nationally accepted exams, such as: CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, KMAT, and even GRE or GMAT. Further, there is a Mysore University Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) to fill a limited number of seats. This offers candidates the chance to pick the best option based upon their prior experience and level of preparation. Generally for online MBAs, eligibility is determined by graduation marks, and entrance exams will not be used to determine eligibility. Keep in mind that entrance exams change though, and always refer to the most recent communication before applying, and ensure that your exam matches the programme type.

The University of Mysore has 19 hostels, out of which 9 are exclusively for postgraduate students and 9 are for undergraduates. These 18 hostels provide both accommodation and dining facilities to students of UG, PG, Diploma, M.Phil, and PhD programmes. All the hostels are under the surveillance of CCTV cameras for the safety and security of the students. Newspaper facilities for the convenience of the hostel students in university hostels are also available. All the hostels are semi-furnished, consisting of all the basic amenities, including a bed, mattress, study table and chair, cupboard, etc. University of Mysore hostels include facilities such as RO units for clean drinking water, multi-gyms with required equipment, etc.

The University of Mysore sports facilities include three cricket grounds, four tennis courts, a cinder track, three basketball courts, etc. It also has Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Gangotri Glades, and three indoor stadiums. A well-equipped large gymnasium and a well-maintained swimming pool are also available for the students to focus on their physical health.
