Congratulations to your son for securing a good rank in the VIT entrance exam. The category-wise cutoff rank for admission to Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) varies every year. As you have not mentioned your son's category, I will assume that he belongs to the General category. In that case, his rank of 15981 is a good rank, and he may have a chance of getting admission in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at VIT Vellore or Chennai campus. However, the final seat allotment depends on various factors like the availability of seats in the CSE branch, the number of applicants, their ranks, and their preferred campus and branch. You can check the official VIT website for more information about the counseling process and seat allotment.

VIT's Integrated M.Tech Certificate in specialised Data Science is a unique and promising course for students interested in pursuing a career in data Science. However, whether this course is better than other integrated courses in VIT or not depends on various factors, such as your interests, career goals, and the availability of job opportunities in the respective fields. Here are a few points to consider:
- specialisation: VIT's Integrated M.Tech Certificate in specialised Data Science offers a specialised course curriculum in data Science, which includes courses on programming languages, data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. If you have a keen interest in data Science and its applications, this course can be an excellent choice. - Career Opportunities: Data Science is a rapidly growing field, and there is a high demand for professionals with skills in data analysis, machine learning, and AI. This course can equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in this field. However, it is essential to note that other integrated courses in VIT, such as B.Tech + M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, also offer promising career opportunities in their respective fields. - Duration: VIT's Integrated M.Tech Certificate in specialised Data Science is a five-year course that includes both a Bachelor's and master's degree in data Science. In contrast, other integrated courses in VIT offer a four-year course duration for B.Tech + M.Tech. - Course Curriculum: While VIT's Integrated M.Tech Certificate in specialised Data Science offers a specialised course curriculum in data Science, other integrated courses in VIT offer a more comprehensive course curriculum covering a broad range of subjects in their respective fields. In conclusion, VIT's Integrated M.Tech Certificate in specialised Data Science can be a better choice if you have a keen interest in data Science and want to pursue a career in this field. However, it is always advisable to research thoroughly and compare different courses based on your interests, career goals, and other factors before making a decision.
