Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank, and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there are 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, but you have to pay more for that. I have never heard of such thing in VIT. Maybe, it's something new that they have launched. But to be frank vit B.Tech is far better than M.Tech
That's the reason why, B.Tech the highest package was 22 LPA while the M.Tech guys were no where close. And when you opt for dual degree course you will be one among the M.Tech guys. Hope this helps.
