Yeah, ofcourse i also had 179 marks in JEE-main + only 77 % marks in state board and i got NIT CALICUT.
so i think your marks is good enough to get a very good NIT.

Do I have any chance in NIT – Calicut? I have scored 138 marks in JEE mains and 97.6% in class 12th.

Can't say if u belong to gen category but if u r in OBC category there are high chances almost 99%
