Conc. H 2 S O 4  acts as dehydrating agent.

Molar mass of given complex = 266.5 g / m o l .

On treating with conc. H 2 S O 4  the mass

lost by the complex = = 13.5 100 ( 266.5 ) 36 g = 2 moles of H 2 O

Formula of the complex = C r H 2 O 4 C l 2 C l . 2 H 2 O
