After class 12th, you can take admission directly through LEET exam. For that, you will have to appear in entrance exam. Every year state government conduct LEET exam.

I might sound harsh, but I will be honest. Recently most companies are going for core companies. However, it might be in all the colleges, but now most of the companies ask for mechanical engineers instead of automobile engineers. Even core automobile companies like Maruti Suzuki prefer mechanical engineers. So, I would suggest, that if you are too much into automobile, take mechanical engineering and later take up automobile engineering for your Masters.
