These days most of the colleges conduct entrance examination but there are some colleges too that give admissions on the basis of Merit such as Graphic Era, HNBGU.

Usually the entrance exam is conducted by most of the colleges and merit can be low upto 60% to 70%. .

If you were a Science student in your intermediate, you can certainly apply for B.Sc. Degrees can't be interchanged.
