Hello Shashank,
You need to approach individual college where you intend to seek admission. This is so since admissions to BA are not centralised yet.

Hello Avinash, Normally speaking, history or other subject similar to archeology are required at graduation. But many universities allow students from any stream of graduation to appear for entrance test & if successful then give admissions. So my advice would be to check on the webpage of your prospective university, details of eligibility. Best wishes.

No, it's not necessary to choose BA because many B.Tech students qualify IAS with a good rank.

It is not necessary that you go for BA or a B.Sc. Any degree holder is eligible for giving UPSC exam. But if you are a science student then you should go for B.Sc rather than going for a BA. B.Sc course is a graduate degree course in science; this can be done as a part-time or full-time course. This course forms the basis of science and comprises of the subjects like physics, chemistry, biology, zoology and mathematics. Some institutions that offer these courses are:
Loyola College - Chennai
Department of Science (Christ University) - Bangalore
Miranda House Delhi
Lovely Professional University, Punjab
Madras Christian College (MCC) - Chenn
