Sir J. J. College of Architecture will be a better option based on the following points :
Faculty
The faculty members are a nice blend of old and young professors and the interesting part is that a lot of visiting faculty members are invited at regular times to take the lectures, in their area of expertise. The head-of-departments are the permanent faculty members, and needless to mention about their experience. Also, they are good teachers and can explain concepts well. Some of the faculty members have been the student of J.J. College itself, and are very flexible with handling things.

B.Arch aspirants learn in detail about architecture and in B.Planning they learn about planning. B.Arch deals with design and construction of building whereas B.Planning deals with human settlement and planning techniques. They learn how to run things effectively.
Both are different courses, job opportunities are different, salary is different and work load is different.
So it depends upon aspirants that in which field he/she wants to go for. But, nowadays B.Arch is more popular than B.Planning.
