For admission to NIFT Patna BDes, the institute accepts NIFT Entrance exam scores. The registration process typically commences in the month of November. The candidates need to fill out the NIFT application form available on the official NIFT website.

The NIFT entrance exam is conducted in two rounds, the first round is the General Ability Test (GAT) and the second round is the Creative Ability Test (CAT), both components hold 30% and 50% weightage, respectively. Candidates who get shortlisted after appearing in the NIFT Entrance exam will then have to appear for a Situation test.

 Admission to the BDes course is on the basis of the score obtained in the NIFT entrance exam, which includes two entrance tests: Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT).

NIFT Delhi BDes admission 2026 cycle commences with the release of NIFT Entrance Exam dates. Admission to this UG course is based on merit in the entrance test.  Online registration will close by mid-January and there is a short window immediately after for submission with a late fee. Candidates can visit the NIFT entrance exam Shikhsha's page for details related to the same.

BDes is the flagship course of the Institution Candidates are required to appear in the MIT DAT (Design Aptitude Test) to get into BDes programme. BDes is a four-year course offered by the School of Design, Presidency University. The course is offered in six specialisations, namely Game Design, Communication Design, Space Design, Fashion Design, Product Design and Multimedia. Candidates who have passed pre-university/ higher secondary/ Class 12 with Arts, Commerce or Science stream with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for reserved category and SC/ ST, Category -1 and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) category students from Karnataka) can apply for BDes course.

The university conducts Presidency’s Design Entrance Test (PDET) for providing admission to BDes course. Apart from the entrance exam, the university also considers Statement of Purpose (SOP). The shortlisted candidates are further called for PI round. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.

The total tuition fees of BDes is INR 10 Lacs as per an unofficial source. Candidates are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Aspirants will also need to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.
