The Gautam Buddha University offers admission to the B. Des. In Interior Design programme on the basis of a creative test followed by an interview and portfolio review.
1. Solve some NIFT questions from previous years to prepare for the creative test.
2. You need to be well versed in the math concepts up to the 12th grade level.
3. You can also look up previous year's GBU papers or speak with senior students in this course to get a sense of the types of questions that will be asked in this test.
4. For the interview process, you need to brush up on your communication skills.
5. You need to be clear about why you are applying to GBU for this course in case questions are asked. Since only 20 students are selected for this course, you must be well prepared with your portfolio and creative skills to excel in the selection process.

The Paper contains General Aptitude (GA) section (15 Marks) as applicable for all papers of GATE 2023. The Paper consists of two parts covering the syllabus: Part A (60 marks) and Part B (25 marks). Part A is compulsory for all the candidates. Part B contains two optional sections: Part B1 (Architecture) and Part B2 (Planning). The syllabus of B. Des in Interior Design has major subjects such as Basics of Structure, Hypothesis of Design, Systematic Drawing, and much more. The elective subjects include Journalism, Dance and Music, and much more. The B. Des Interior Design courses cover a wide range of topics, and are divided into eight semesters. The art and Science of analyzing people's behavior in order to design effective spaces within a building is the curriculum of a B. Des in Interior Design. The courses are divided into eight semesters that deal with balancing creativity with sensitive, pragmatic design thinking. The B. Des Interior Design syllabus provides a thorough understanding of contemporary professional practice as well as all aspects of project management. Students will learn how to use technical tools like AutoCAD, hand drawing, and model making, as well as how to enhance verbal presentation skills.

For admission to a college of their choice, the aspirant must ensure they know about the different B. Des eligibility requirements. Once a student has completed high school from a recognised educational board, they will need to apply directly to a B. Des programme, either by direct admission to colleges or by multiple entrances and counselling afterwards. They must ensure that they give the entrance examination required for the admission process. If a student has completed a Diploma course in design that the AICTE has accredited, they can follow B. Des as well. The first step in this process is filling up the entrance exam's admission form online or offline by attaching all the documents, including the Aadhaar card, voter ID card, domicile, and class 10th and class 12th-grade mark sheets as the final year graduation mark sheet. The cut-off marks will be announced after the results are published. Then, the aspirants who have cleared the cut-off will attend online counseling. Applicants would have to provide options of the colleges where they want to take admission during online counseling. The counseling body would assign seats to the applicants based on their ranks. Exams may be conducted both online and offline. They have objective-type questions. They also have a section where an aspirant has to show their design skills by drawing something. The question will be based on quantitative ability, communication ability, English comprehension, analytical ability, general knowledge, and Current Affairs. There's also an interview round where the council tests an aspirant's communication skills, and creativity and also looks at some of their designs. The institution's preferences determine the syllabus and evaluation model. The examination time for the B. Des entrance exam is 120 to 180 minutes.
