The eligibility requirements for the B.Des (Bachelor of Design) course at Heritage Institute of Technology consist of several steps and procedures. To be eligible, candidates must have successfully completed their 10+2 education from a recognised board, and their age should not exceed 28–30 years. There are no specified stream or subject prerequisites for the B.Des course. However, it is important to note that there are certain age relaxations and application fee reductions available for SC and ST candidates.

National Institute of Design, Johrat offers Bachelor of Design course in different specializations including B.Des. in Industrial Design, B.Des. in Communication Design, and B.Des. in Textile and Apparel Design.

The duration of the Bachelor of Design course is four years.

Candidates can apply for the courses offered by the college through online/offline mode. For admission to B. Des, a candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent, and for admission into 1-year Certificate courses, a student must have completed his 12th standard. For admission into Diploma courses, a candidate must have done a certificate course in the respective field of specialization.

Admission to all the courses depends upon the availability of seats and college admission criteria.

Eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Des programme through SEED 2026 is given below.

• There is no age limit for admission to the B.Des program

• Candidate must have passed Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognized board or 10+3 Diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education.

• Candidate needs to have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes) in the qualifying exam.

• Candidate from any stream having completed or appeared for 10+2 can apply for any specialization in design at SID.

Yes, Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des programme need to appear in the SEED exam. The scores of the SEED exam will be used to shortlist candidates for a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction round. Note that the final merit list will be prepared by considering the cumulative performance of the candidate in the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task, and Personal Interaction (PRPI).

The seat allotment to UCEED participating colleges will be through the Joint Admission Process conducted by IIT Bombay. Note that only such candidates who have been allocated a merit rank in UCEED are eligible to participate in the seat allotment process.

The allotment of seats will be on the basis of merit rank of the candidate in UCEED and the college option opted at the time of counseling registration. 

Admission to the B. Des programme at UCEED participating colleges will be on the basis of UCEED merit rank. So, candidates with a higher rank will get preference in the seat allotment process. The admission committee will also consider the college option opted by the candidate and their order of priority.
