The only way you can truly understand and master the electronics and communication field is through practical work. Basics of electronics should be clear (first couple year's curriculum). I guarantee you'll face difficulties later on if you're not clear with basics. Start working on the latest techs of the field as soon as you can. With the pace that the technology is advancing, it is highly probable that you'll be taught something that has been replaced half a decade ago. (I was studying analog TV). To know what techs to choose, contact your final year seniors and alumni. Pick a faculty or two and make their professional life a nightm
