Both courses are good but Agriculture is less Competitive field and comparatively opportunities are more considering that we are primarily an agricultural country. A very small percentage of our students opt for an agricultural major, only because they don't realize its potential. Both the courses are good. Having a biotechnology degree opens up many more doors in various fields like industrial processes, management jobs while microbiology jobs are more research oriented. You also have an option of doing an MBA in Biotechnology, which a new and emerging field of work. The job market while not absolutely lucrative is growing with the biotechnology sector on the increase in India. There are jobs in the agricultural, pharmaceuticals, medical and various other fields, making it a very flexible subject.

Thus, ultimately, it depends upon the interest level and passion of students and they can choose to pursue degrees in any of these fields. Both Biotechnology and Microbiology are equally beneficial for career growth. Having a biotechnology degree opens up many more doors, in various fields like industrial processes, management jobs while microbiology jobs are more research oriented. The admission forms for 2023-24 UG admissions are out for era university. One can download the form through their website and fill the details to give in person or via post. Or you can apply online for the same. The selection will be merit based.

If you are good at Chemistry subject then go for the B. Pharmacy programme. However, if you are good at Biology then choose microbiology or biotechnology.
