Those who complete a Ph.D. and/or Post-Doctoral studies after getting scholarships through GRE or TOEFL may find microbiology jobs at foreign universities or Research and Development (R&D) wings of major pharmaceutical companies. Research opportunities in urban disease control, formulation research, clinical research, analytical development and new drug development are exploding too, with major companies investing in R&D. One can always teach, though its advantageous to have a doctorate for such a path. Self-employed microbiologists can set up their own laboratories. Thank you.

B.Sc. In agriculture in India is a 4 year graduate course consisting of topics such as plant genetics, entomology, plant pathology, horticulture, soil Science, agricultural economics, etc. The main aim of this course is to improve agriculture productivity scientifically. The career opportunities in this area include government sector jobs in banks (involved in sanctioning of Agricultural loans) and other state based plantation boards. Private sector jobs include serving at the managerial level in Plantations, Agricultural Machinery industry, officer level posts in Fertilizer manufacturing companies etc. One can even go for research and development sector after the requisite. Microbiology on the other hand is a 3-year graduation course with topics consisting of Clinical Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Recombinant DNA technology, little bits of Botany and Zoology, Soil, Air, Water and Food Microbiology, Bio-statistics, etc. Its basically a multidisciplinary subject growing and evolving everyday (this I can say from a personal experience). .
