As per NIRF ranking 2024, IIT Madras emerged to be on the 1st position as the top BTech in Biomedical Engineering colleges in Chennai followed by SRM IST Kattankulathur and Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology.

JISCE Kolkata BTech in Biomedical Engineering curriculum is spread over a period of four years. It follows a semester pattern, with eight semester in total. The preparation time for BTech BME entrance exams is not fixed and depends on the student preparing for the same. But, it is always better to start your preparation as early as possible so that you can cover a majority of the topics given in the exam syllabus and have enough time with you for a through revision. You must start at least 6 to 8 months before the final exam is scheduled.

The time involved in the BTech BME admission process varies from one college to another. In general, it may easily take up to a few months as every college follows individual guidelines for giving admission to students with a lot of formalities involved in the same.
The process includes filling out the application forms, appearing for the entrance exam, exam result announcement, college counseling, seat allotment, course fee payment, and admission confirmation from your end. So, you should stay calm and patient during the entire admission process.

For applying to the BTech Biomedical Engineering course, you must keep an eye on the official websites of the colleges you're targeting as they generally release the application forms online for a certain amount of time for students to apply in large numbers.
A majority of the popular colleges follow the online mode of application procedure as it is convenient for students across India to fill out the forms from the comfort of their homes without having to travel to college.

For studying the BTech BME course at popular Indian colleges, you should have at least 50 to 60% marks in the PCM/PCB/PCMB subjects. Many top ranked colleges give admission on the basis of entrance exam scores. You should prepare well and get excellent marks the same to grab a seat for yourself.
Having said that, there are more than 100 colleges in India that admit students on the basis of Class 12 board exam marks. These colleges often take extra rounds like the GD or PI after the entrance exam results are out.
