For B.Tech (Lateral), candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks for Backward class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only), Alternatively for B.Tech (Lateral), candidates with B.Sc. From a recognised university as defined by UGC and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks for Backward class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject, are also eligible. Students appearing for 10+2 or Engineering Diploma are also eligible. Maharashtra State candidates must have to appear for MHT CET. All India candidates need to appear for MHT-CET/JEE Mains. However, JEE Mains will be preferred over MHT CET. Selection Criteria
Admission is through counseling conducted by DTE Maharashtra based on marks obtained in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) or rank obtained in JEE-Mains. For international students admission is through counseling conducted by DTE Maharashtra based on marks obtained in mandatory subjects in 10+2. The admission for first-year engineering degree courses is done through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). To become eligible for CAP the candidates need to register their application online. They can visit the website of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra and fill-up the form. Candidates have to report to the Application Form Receipt Centre (ARC) for document verification. Candidates will be shortlisted for CAP rounds based on their score in the entrance exam and preferences given by them for courses and colleges. Actually I did MBA from Lovely Professional University but I have one friend who has done B.Tech Civil Engineering From LPU.He told me B. Tech in civil engineering course involves so much more than theoretical know-how. Yes, you can go ahead with your desired programme. Yes, It is possible to join B.Tech course after completing B.Sc. Through the lateral entry scheme which is offered by most of the Engineering colleges in India. The lateral entry is only given to candidates who have either completed Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. Course. What it means is that you would be given admission in the second year of the Engineering course of your choice which you can select depending on the subject in which you completed your B.Sc. Eligibility Criteria for LEET:
1. Must be graduate in Science stream like B.Sc. With minimum 55% marks.
2. Must have taken mathematics as one of the compulsory subject in B.Sc.
3. Don't have any supply in any semester. B.Sc. (CHEMISTRY).
