For B.Tech (Lateral), candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks for Backward class and PWD candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only), Alternatively for B.Tech (Lateral), candidates with B.Sc. Apart from IIT, top colleges for civil engineering are National Institute of Technology, R.V.College of Engineering, Delhi Technological University, College of Engineering Pune, UPES Dehradun,Lovely Professional University etc.

Yes, you can go ahead with your desired programme. Yes, It is possible to join B.Tech course after completing B.Sc. Through the lateral entry scheme which is offered by most of the Engineering colleges in India. The lateral entry is only given to candidates who have either completed Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc. Course. What it means is that you would be given admission in the second year of the Engineering course of your choice which you can select depending on the subject in which you completed your B.Sc. Let me tell you that Niether IIT's nor NIT's have Lateral Entry Scheme into 2nd year of B.Tech. There is no such provisions into NIT's for that. Even Diploma Engineering Student who cracks AIEEE will be provided Admission to the first year of B.Tech at NIT's or IIIT's. As there is no provision for lateral entry into 2nd year. However, request was made for indroducing such provisions but has be rejected as it will effect the quality and faculty of education at NIT's.

Hello, Marks cutoff varies from college to college. Generally, 60% is the criteria. So, it's better first to select the college and then check the eligibility of that chosen college from the college website. All the best for your future.
