It is known for old and architectural infrastructure faculty with great experience and knowledge facilities provided by it like sports complex, Wi-Fi and labs are well equipped by the instruments and machines.

This question is a little more complex to answer because of the fact that you have not mentioned any of the branches for departments in particular that you want to know the status of placements for hence I would consider all branches at an overall to answer this question.

For computer science engineering 182 offers were bagged by the students in 2016-17.
The minimum salary offered was around 2LPA while the average salary was between 3 - 4.5 LPA. The maximum salary offered was around 10 LPA (across all branches).
Companies like Barclays, Accolite, Morgan Stanley and Infosys recruit from K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering.

For Chemical Engineering out of 70 students who enrolled for placements only 38 were placed. Minimum salary offered was 4.5 LPA while the average salary offered was 7.4 LPA. Maximum package offered was 12.5 LPA. So the placements for chemical were decent at NIT Calicut.

For engineering physics out of 12 students who enrolled for placements only 2 were placed. One got a salary of 4.5 LPA and other got a salary of 4.2 LPA making the average salary 4.35 LPA as such. You should know that Engineering physics is mainly a research based branch so placements are ought to be less as compared to other branches.
