KIIT School of Engineering is the engineering wing of KIIT University. It was established in the year 1997.
It is best known for its placements in the computer science field. Various companies visit the university for providing best internships to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students.
About 500+ students were provided with internships in the top most companies.
Companies that visit the university for placements are:-
TCS, Wipro, Samsung, Microsoft, IBM and other national and international companies.
The highest salary package provided the students last year was about 27-28 LPA and the lowest was about 3-4 LPA.

Yes, energy engineering is a growing sector in India. Hydro, Solar, Nuclear, Tidal are some of the energy sources which are preferred as energy sources in various parts of India. Yes, it's a good specialization to pursue in engineering.
However, when we speak of the placements through TNAU, they differ. The actual campus placements are not very impressive and hence the course is not very popular through TNAU.
In case the students do pursue this field then it would be self placements through which they can build established careers.

It's very good to see your intention to go for BE through lateral entry after the completion of Diploma. Admissions under lateral entry are controlled by concerned state governments and these days are made online. So, for you to get your desired college, you need to get good marks in Diploma. When it comes to petroleum engineering in particular, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has got no match all across India. If we talk about last 2-3 years, almost top 60% (GPA wise, good communication skills, good CV) of the total strength (100 - 110) got placement in core companies like Schlumberger, Shell, Cairn India, Halliburton etc. which is above Rs 10 to Rs 12 lakhs per annum. The placement scenario varies from year to year especially in chemical engineering of Haldia Institute of Technology.
In 2017, various core companies recruited students from HIT like Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd., Adani Wilmar, Topchem Cement, Praxair, Wacker, S.G Biogas, IR Chemicals, Oriental Nicco, Chemtex, Voith Paper, Sanmar, and Almal.

SVNIT is amongst the top 10 NITs of India and also one of the oldest technical institutes. It was established in 1961 with just 3-4 branches and mechanical was one amongst them.
