Biotech has great potential. Indian agriculture requires research in almost all areas. Biotech engineers can play a great role in this area. For clearing GATE nothing else but knowledge of your own subject is required. In addition, if you can give some mock tests and improve weak areas based on the feedback it would be of great help in clearing GATE.

You can even get into Masters in English if you want to pursue a passion in literature. However, an MBA in IT or some IT related domain can be the best choice for career growth.

But before you opt for another branch, keep an eye on various subjects and your interests upon the subject. It's your future and your own life. So, you should be aware of your interests and take a branch according to your interest. Talking about your preparation which you did in these 3 years, it doesn't mean the struggle you had is useless. Remember, every experience gives you the new technique and new ideas. So, never lose hope and keep trying.

Both are hard to achieve. For IIT (preferably top IITs) requires you to score 'good' marks in GATE with good number of work experience. And still you may find yourself suffering because of lesser number of seats and reservations. And for abroad, you need; #1) Lots of funds (if you didn't get the scholarships), hectic regulatory requirements, good number of work experience, exceptional academics and global competition. So, identify your potential and then go ahead. I would advise you to apply on both (I. e. , IITs and abroad). And where ever you get the chance, just grab it.
Hope this helps. Upvote the answer if you feel sati
