Music & Sound Production

The AAFT School of Music's Diploma in Music Production is designed for aspiring producers and artists who want to turn their passion for sound into a professional career. With a strong focus on hands-on music production and a Western music orientation, the course equips students with the essential creative and technical skills needed in today's regional, national and global music industry.

Students dive into Western music theory—from scales, modes, and harmony to chord progressions that form the base of most, if not all, acoustic and electronic genres and their subgenres. Alongside theory, they gain practical expertise in Digital Audio Workstations (like Logic Pro and Ableton Live), MIDI programming, sound design, and advanced synthesis using industry-standard VSTs and plugins (like Vital, Serum, etc.).

They also learn professional recording techniques for instruments such as guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums, mastering both solo and multi-track production. As their skills grow, students refine their craft through mixing and mastering, understanding EQ, compression, reverb, and spatial effects to create polished, industry-ready tracks.

The course further builds creativity through songwriting, composition, and live sound operations, encouraging collaborations, band setups, and stage performances. By graduation, students are equipped with the necessary skillset, the ethics and the aesthetics and are well-prepared to step into the industry as music producers, composers, performers, or independent artists—ready to make their mark in the ever-evolving world of global music.
