The total course fee for BTech at IIIT Bhopal is around INR 7.2 lakh. Total fee is calculated based on annual/ semester fee available for the academic year 2023-24, hence is indicative. The selection to IIIT Bhopal BTech programme is based on the candidate’s JEE Main exam score followed by the centralised counselling process regulated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) through which they are allotted a seat. The seat allotment also depends on the college cutoff and a candidate’s preference for that course and college. JoSAA registrations usually begin from the third week of June in online mode. However, the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) manages the counselling process for the remaining vacant seats.

The institute is ranked 27 among the top colleges of India under the “Engineering” category by NIRF in 2025 rankings.  Admission to the course is entrance-based. Aspirants are required to take JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The selected students based on merit in JEE Advanced further have to participate in JoSAA rounds of counselling. The seat allotment process is then carried out as per performance in counselling and other selection rounds.

Aspirants need to appear for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced and secure a valid All India Rank (AIR). Based on students' AIR, the conducting body calls students for JoSAA counselling and carries out the allotment process. There is no other provision for admission to the BTech course. The total tuition fee for BTech courses is INR 8 Lacs and INR 8.1 Lacs for the integrated programmes (BTech + MTech).
