Review of IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: It's pretty impressive that about 80% of students from our course land jobs. Seriously, the top salary package is a whopping 64 LPA, while the average sits around 17 LPA. We've got big names like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. Now, when it comes to internships, it is higher than job placements. In fact, only about 100 students across the entire campus manage to snag internships each year. If you're looking at roles, we see quite a few opportunities in areas like power systems, electronic engineering, and control systems.

Infrastructure: The college has pretty solid infrastructure and decent amenities. You know, the on-campus housing is actually quite comfy and well-managed. A lot of students choose to live there. As for the food service, it's okay. It meets the basic standards, nothing fancy.

Faculty: Honestly, teachers are fantastic. Every single member really knows their stuff when it comes to their field. They are super accessible and are always ready to lend a hand to students. The way they teach works well, giving students a solid grasp of the material. The curriculum is modern, and the test questions strike a nice balance, not too easy, not too hard.

Life of an IIT Bhubaneswar student.

Placements: In the B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering course, more than 70% of students get placed. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Lenovo, Motel, etc., visit the college to recruit students. The highest package is 63 LPA, and the average package is 17 LPA. Roles offered are control system engineer, power system engineer, etc. Internship is offered to nearly 100 students from the whole batch, but the percentage of students who got internships is less.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available in the college and the hostel. The infrastructure is good. A night canteen is available. Sanjeevani Hospital is available. There are different courts for sports like basketball, badminton, etc. Gym facilities are also available. Food items are not so spicy, but a variety of items are present. Wi-Fi facility is available 24 hours on premises.

Faculty: All teachers have a doctorate degree. They are highly professional. Exams are difficult but can be cracked using systematic planning. The pass percentage here is more than ninety. Different labs are there to make students industry-ready. They conduct different industrial visits and guest talks from industry professionals.

Other: I chose this course because of my passion for electrical engineering. Practical applications and use made me interested in this course. Onefest is conducted every year for 3 days, and celebrities come for the star night. The DJ night is also for entertainment. Different stalls are kept, and games are conducted for fun. More than 500 students are present in every batch. NSO and NSS are there for extracurricular activities.

Good placements, faculty members are average in terms of teaching, and hostels are good and clean.

Placements: Generally, the placement percentage stays between 80 to 90% in our course. This year, the highest CTC is 67.4 LPA, and the lowest is 6 LPA. The average is 19.4 LPA, and median is 12 LPA. This year, 54 students registered for placements, out of which 50 get placed. Top recruiting companies are Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Zomato, etc. Around 30% of our batch got internships.

Infrastructure: Regarding hostels, male students get single occupancy room. Wi-Fi connectivity fluctuates from time to time in the hostels. Labs are fully equipped with the required instruments. Labs and classrooms are mostly air-conditioned. Library has plenty of books and reading rooms. There are many eateries out there on the campus. But the mess food is not good at all. We have a health center that is like a mini hospital inside the campus itself. Weekly free checkups are also provided there. Every major sports facility is there, along with a gym.

Faculty: Teachers are very much qualified but many of them don't have good teaching quality. They have a lot of knowledge but many times their teaching style does not fit us. The course content is average like any other college. I won't say it's out of date but does NIT completely fit current industry standards. The exams are quite difficult, and the grading system is relatively. It's an IIT so to score well like 8.5 or 6 CGPA, one has to study regularly.

Other: I chose electrical engineering here because I liked electro dynamics in my JEE time. I wish that the fests would improve a bit. Events and fests are very good here but there is only one major fest in a year.

Infrastructure: Facilities are really good. Wi-Fi is available 24 hours a day. Night canteen is also available in both boys' and girls' hostels. Labs have the required equipment. The quality of food is nice, but it is less spicy. Medical facilities are available, as there is a hospital and a medical pharmacy. A gym is provided, and courts for games like basketball and volleyball are available. Coaches are also there.

Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, having doctorate degrees, and are knowledgeable. The course makes students industry-ready because of its labs, workshops, and practical projects. Semester exams are a little difficult, but easy if we study daily. Very few students fail, and nearly 95% pass the exams.

Other: Fests are yearly once and for three days. During that time, different games, events, and food courts are organized. There is also a starry night. The campus is full of greenery, with no pollution, and spread over nearly 1,000 acres. Only cycles are allowed for students. NSS and NSO options are provided, and yoga is taught. Lots of events are conducted, making us knowledgeable about all fields. Scholarships like NSP are also provided.

Good college in terms of facilities but needs to improve placements.

Placements: I am currently pursuing B.Tech in electrical engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar. Last year, approximately 78% of students got placed in EE. The salary package offered ranges between 6 LPA to 67 LPA. The average salary package offered is 12 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Tata Steel, JLR, Accenture, and many more. Approximately 40% of students got internships from our course in companies like Accenture, JSPL, etc. Top roles offered are SDE, GET, MT, etc.

Infrastructure: Our college is in the developing phase. Many things are going on simultaneously and rapidly. We have 3 lecture hall complexes out of which 2 are functional now. We have schools for each department and labs in the schools. Our library has over 25,600 books. We have access to 60 million E-books through NDLI. Each student has his room. Wi-Fi and LAN are available 24/7. They provide good quality food in the mess. It provides food 4 times a day. We have Sanjeevan Health Centre. Specialized doctors visit our campus on a routine basis. The college provides us with good sports facilities.

Faculty: Teachers here are sincere, helpful, and well-qualified. They teach very well. The course curriculum is relevant. I feel the curriculum should be modified to make students industry-ready. They should start teaching the core subjects from the first semester, so we can have more time to go into the depth of our course.

Other: I chose the course because it was the best I could get at that time. I had some interest in electrodynamics. I feel instead of teaching humanity subjects, they should teach us more subjects of core electrical engineering. As I have previously mentioned our college is in the developing phase, everything is growing nowadays. There are many events and fests. There is a campus crowd, shops, etc. There are provisions for fee remission. Our college provides scholarships.

Should I take EE in IIT BBSR or ECE at NIT, Allahabad?

I think NIT- Allahabad is better with ECE. There, you will get a good atmosphere of coding and ECE is one of the top branch of NIT-Allahabad. NIT-Allahabad is better in all manners.

NIT-K (Surathkal) is better in terms of placements than IIT Bhubaneswar. Recently IIT Bhubaneswar might get some good placements but NIT-K is much older and have more connections.
