B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.8
Review of IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: The placement percentage in my college in the computer science course is very good. Around 90 percent of students get placed. The highest package offered is 70 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 10 LPA. The average package offered is 20 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, Zomato, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and the infrastructure are top-notch. Classrooms are air-conditioned with complete internet. The quality of our hostel is good because we are getting single rooms. We also get breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to us in both classes and with solving doubts. They all are highly qualified. They are PhD holders from top universities in the world. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry. We have mid-semester and semester exams. Around 95 students pass exams.

Really good facilities.
Placements: Most of the people got placed. The placement percentage is also good there. Coming to the internship again most of the people got their internships. The companies coming are good. Basically, the average package goes upto 25 LPA - 30 LPA which is a very good amount.
Infrastructure: All labs and classrooms have AC and Wi-Fi facilities. Also, we have active learning classrooms which make our college different from others i.e., other than that old method of giving lectures we have discussion classrooms which are very good.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good and well-knowledgeable. They help us a lot in every aspect, not only academics but we are provided with faculty advisor who looks after our overall development at the college and sorts out the problems we face. The difficulty level of semester exam is also good.
Other: The events and fests are very enjoyable.

Review of IIT Bhubaneswar - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: Average placement opportunities are provided by this college campus. Not good for every student. Particular students preparing at a high level can only get good placements. Mostly we have to look for out-campus placements. Mostly 20-30 % of students get in campus placements only.
Infrastructure: The college campus is very big and beautiful. The buildings are very large and amazing. Different schools are provided for every different branch of students. Wi-Fi is available all the time available in campus. Transport facilities are also good. Cycles are also provided on campus. Hostel rooms are good enough for one student to stay. Mess food is also good.
Faculty: The faculty is also good and highly educated. All have degrees in their fields. Mostly teaches topics relevant. Exams are also easy and whatever is taught in the class is almost the same comes in the exam. Attendance is necessary between.
Other: My course is CS and it's the best branch on our campus and I am glad that I got this branch in this campus.

Vast area, with calm weather, decent package, excellent infrastructure, and faculty members.
Placements: I don't know much about the placements. But the average package was around 20 LPA and it has been maintained for 4 years. In CSE the average package is around 25 LPA (80% placed) and around 97% of applied students get placed. Companies like Wipro and Federal visit our college. Google and Amazon visit but hire very few students.
Infrastructure: Lab is an old building. Library is huge. There is a lot of space in the study room with computers given. Lecture halls are 3 and they're luxurious. Hostels are single-room occupancy. Cot, table, cupboard, and chair are provided. There are windows and balcony in each room. Food is fine but the regular menu makes it boring. Wi-Fi is unlimited but encrypted. Sports are underdeveloped. Canteens are fine with reasonable prices.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly from Bengal or Telugu. They are friendly and our doubts get solved without any online reference. But some faculty members are a bit harsh and that's fine. Course contents are good. Semester exams are 2. A mid and an end sem. Weightage is according to faculty members. Attendance is margined. Pass percentage is around 80% (around 18% clear with supplies or summer quarters).
Other: My thought was to take computer science, so in my counseling, I put computer Science in order and finally, I came here. Computer science courses are the same in all IITs but the value of a degree is different. Fest was 3 per year until last year but from 2024 it's only 1 per year. GCs (competition between branches within the campus) happen grandly. Inter IIT is also taken seriously. Fee waiver is a type of scholarship based on annum income. NSS, NCC, and NSO are extracurricular activities. NSO refers to sports in which a student needs to select a sport and get trained.

Not-so-good placements are happening right now, the existing infrastructure is good.
Placements: Placements post-COVID have been affected due to the recession, and companies are not hiring in huge numbers as of now. More than 30% of students in this outgoing batch this year are yet to be placed. The highest package is 55 LPA, and the lowest package is around 6 LPA. Not even 50% of the class strength got internships during on-campus hiring. Most of us have to apply off-campus or do research internships.
Infrastructure: Hostels are nice and neatly maintained, and everything. The mess food is bad. The quality of food is average, but the taste is not good. We have to depend on pickles and other non-perishable food. The campus is nice, but there are not many large trees, which causes the heatwaves to turn worse in summer.
Faculty: IIT Bhubaneswar offers a strong curriculum that covers various disciplines, and the faculty members have Ph.D. qualifications. Regular feedback on ongoing courses and faculty will be taken from students. Exams will be conducted twice in a semester. One semester approximately lasts for 4 months, two months into the semester, students will have to take mid-semester exams. At the end of the semester, the end-semester exams will be conducted.
Other: The good part about IIT Bhubaneswar is that we get to learn so much from the faculty members, and we can spend our college life away from city noise, on a peaceful large campus. The bad part about the college is that it is situated far from Bhubaneswar city, it takes nearly 1 hour to travel to the city.

An honest review from the inside of IIT BBS.
Placements: This year, almost 80% of students in CSE had the highest CTC of 55 lpa, the average CTC of 20 lpa, and the lowest CTC of 8 lpa. The top recruiting companies are Tiger Analytics, Brane, Accenture, and Jaguar. The top roles offered are data analyst, data scientist, business analyst, and software engineer. This year, 23 PPOs were received. The number of PPOs received compared to the previous year and placement season was also not that good compared with the previous year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure facilities are improving gradually. At present, there are a library, an auditorium, lecture hall complexes, a student activity center, department buildings, a shopping complex, two Nescafé's, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, lawn tennis, badminton courts and a table tennis play area. Hostel staff are not cooperative and mess food is the worst. There are very few food alternatives available on campus.
Faculty: The curriculum is not up-to-date. One has to prepare on their own to secure decent internships and placements. The faculty are quite helpful and cooperative. Semester exams mainly concentrate on understanding and application ability. The curriculum does not make students industry-ready. Professors are highly educated, knowledgeable and student-friendly.
Other: IIT BBS has 4 fests in total. Ashvamedha- Sports Fest E-Summit: Entrepreneurship Fest Wissen Aire-Technical Management Fest Alma Fiesta: Socio Cult Fest Scholarships provided by the institute are merit-cum means scholarship (mcm). And fee reimbursement for low-income students. Every student will be allocated a single-occupancy room with all the basic requirements, like Wi-Fi.

I am totally satisfied with the hostel facilities and the course offered by the campus.
Placements: Actually, the placements are good at IIT BHUBANESWAR, and there are many top companies that visit the campus and offer a high package. The coding culture is also good in IIT BHUBANESWAR. CSC people get high packages and high amounts of packages when compared to other branches. The highest package is INR 64 lacs per annum, and almost 85% of people got internships.
Infrastructure: There is good infrastructure for my course, and there is sufficient equipment in the lab. There is also a library that contains all the books for our required subjects in the available quantity, and the hostel is excellent. The quality of food is average in the mess and canteen, there are proper medical facilities, and there are many places for sports and games.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are well qualified, helpful, and skilled. The teaching quality is so good. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, and it also makes students ready for industries. The semester exams are moderate and sometimes difficult. The pass percentage is 95%.
Other: I am only interested in CSC, so I have chosen this course. The best thing about the course is that it is relatively easier than other courses. I need to improve my coding skills. There are many events and festivals conducted on our campus, and there are many students who want to join them. There are also many activities conducted at the college.

Placements: More than 90% of students got placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 64 LPA. The average salary package offered is 18 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are De Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Zomato, Uber, and Oracle. Around 80% of students got internships in companies like Media. Net, Swiggy, De Shaw, and Oracle. Mostly software roles are offered to students.
Infrastructure: Our college provides us with all facilities. Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioners, smart boards, and Wi-Fi. The library contains more than 10,000 books. The hostel facilities are good. They provide a common room for each student. The hostel rooms have LAN and Wi-Fi connections. The food served in the hostel is good. Medical facilities are available in our college. Our college provides us with facilities for sports like carrom, badminton, tennis, basketball, table tennis, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Our professors are helpful and good. If we ask any doubt about the subject, they will answer them. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. It provides good knowledge about subjects. Semester exams are easy if you learn the subject thoroughly. The pass percentage is about 35%.
Other: I opted for this course to become a software engineer. Everything is good in this course. Our college organises cultural, technical, and sports fests every year. Students can apply for MCM and tuition fee remission scholarships if they are eligible.
