My view upon the branch is that it will be having some awesome faculty . Firstly we at IITH are having some really good profs in this field . I have taken a course Intro to AI and ML in this sem .The course provided us a quick start to understand what AI is all about. It was really awesome. So if you are truly intrested in pursuing a degree in AI ,

Civil is a good branch, you have so many interesting subjects to learn, many people choose to avoid giving civil a preference 'cause they think Civil me placement nahi hota' 'Construction site par kaam karna padega .But civil has so many sub branches (Structural, Environmental, Transportation, Water Resources, Construction technology, etc) which gives a good opportunity for further studies.
I agree that the placement scenario of civil is poor if you compare it to Mech, CSE, ECE, EEE , but if you are good with your subjects it shouldn't be a problem.

I am currently in first year of IIIT Surat,Computer science branch, and here is the overview of my college so far-
CAMPUS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Currently , our campus ai not ready so our college is functioning within SVNIT , and shares all of its campus resources like classrooms ,labs,sports facilities,gym,student clubs, hostels etc. However , we do have our own admin building, computer labs and electronics labs have been setup separately recently in this year itself .

No one can accurately predict the opening and closing ranks for a particular college. It depends on your branch and category. You can have a look at last year's opening and closing ranks. That should give you a fair idea.

1. Getting a BSc agriculture seat in TNAU is as tough as like getting a best medical college in India because every year it is on boom.(very high in demand).
