Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, has pioneered India's engineering education and research as it is one of the oldest engineering colleges in Asia. The college offers a full-time undergraduate B.Tech. in nine specializations.
Admissions to VJTI, Mumbai are strictly based on merit only through on-line centralised admission process.
For admission to B.Tech. in Computer Engineering (Lateral Entry), the eligibility criteria are:
A diploma course in engineering and technology in a relevant stream must be completed with a minimum of 45% marks from an All India Council for Technical Education-approved institution or its equivalent.
Or the candidate must have completed a B.Sc. with at least 45% marks from a UGC-recognized university and passed 10+2 with mathematics as a subject.
Candidates must register for the centralized admission process of the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, by visiting the official website of MHT-CET and filling in the required information.
An admit card will be issued to all the eligible candidates with all the details about the entrance test.
After the CET, VJTI will issue a merit list for all the courses, which is published on the official website of the college under the Admission Portal.
Students whose marks are on the merit list can visit the college with all their documents for further admission processing.
The merit list, consisting of the names and aggregate percentage of successful candidates in different categories, is yet to be published.

Admission to the undergraduate course B.Tech in Karnataka usually begins after the intermediate (10+2) examination. There are multiple entrance examinations for B.Tech like JEE Main the Karnataka Common Entrance Test KCET the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK), and other state-level examinations. Also, few universities hold their own entrance exams to admit students to B.Tech and its specializations. The dates vary every year for different examinations. The expected dates for different examinations are as follows:
JEE (Main): The form is available around May, and the exam is conducted in June. KCET exam: Forms are available from April to May, and the exam is conducted in June. COMEDK: Forms are available from March to April, and exams are conducted in June. Similarly, other universities also begin their process around April, and exams are usually conducted at the end of June or July's first week.
