During graduation in my final year my friends used to earn amount by working as a freelancer on internet. The freelancer work could be easily managed in weekend and was able to provide them a handsome amount. Also one can earn by teaching in coaching classes for competitive exams and boards. Private universities like Galgotias, Sharda, LPU will give you admission based on your marks, and academics don't matter for them, just give them fees and that's it.

In my opinion, you should attempt JEE Mains and take a GETI instead of going for these private universities. IPU is a good option for low rank and middle-class students, there are other state-funded universities which are better than them, they must be your last to last priority.

Generally similar stream will be offered for B.Tech for Diploma students as studied in Diploma. However, B.Tech Biotechnology basically deals with basic engineering concepts which are applied in chemical engineering and applied Biology. B.Tech Biotechnology Syllabus also deals with methods for environmental conservation, medicines, health along with technology. So changing the stream in B.Tech course is not recommendable.
