Hello Shylaja, You can do B.Tech in food technology in an IIT and in many colleges in Karnataka also. So you will have to appear for JEE Mains first get clear and then appear for JEE Advanced also for getting admission in IIT. Similarly you need to appear in KCET for getting admission in colleges in Karnataka. There is no difference between BE and B.Tech. It is just the nomenclature which is different. Both are similar degrees. Different universities award gradation degrees in engineering such as B.E. / B.Tech BS, B.Sc. (engineering).
