Some companies make the differentiation while others do not. Having said that, the difference in average pay for campus offers at top college and an average college would be somewhere around 30% and it will be largely attributable to different companies and different roles being offered. Important is to get an admission into a good engineering college, complete your engineering with good grades and a solid understanding of concepts and rest will follow on its.

The college has a reputation maintained for excellence in the course offered particularly for undergraduate courses. The placements are higher in almost every branch. For civil engineering branch, one can expect an average placement package of around Rs 4 Lacs considering the placement record in the year 2016. Also, the highest placement package obtained by a student of the batch 2017 in the civil department was Rs 17.5 Lacs by VGN which happened to take only 4 students from the whole batch. Some of the reputable names are Huawei, Ericsson, IBM, VMware, Cisco with international offers as well. Training and placement cell of the university achieved noticeable success in helping the students to reach their avenues. Around 90-95% of students from CSE/IT department gets placed in some or the other companies. The package could be as low as 2.8 Lacs or it could be high as 25 Lacs (although only 2 students got that in the entire history), but students at least got a job. Few of the reputed (core CSE) companies which visited the campus in the past few years are Adobe, Amazon, HP, Hike Messenger, etc. Other than this, there are certain other companies such as Ivy Computech, Josh Technologies which also provide a handsome salary. The state-of-the-art facilities (wind tunnels/supercomputing facilities) provide for easy experimenting. The professors are adept at carrying out research and teaching. This is mostly because 80% of them are IIT alumni-US Ph.D. So they have a very good understanding of how IITians should be taught. There are not many core companies that come for the placement for mechanical engineering since the team has not been updated with industry tie-ups, it generally uses alumni connect for placements which make them very mediocre.
65% of the students were placed. The highest package given was of 7.5LPA and the lowest was 1 5LPA. Some prominent recruiters are given below:
