First of all, you have to clear all the necessities for getting admission into Jadavpur University, i.e. 60% marks in PCM and 30% marks in English besides of passing in each subject in board exams etc. And, your WBJEE rank must be under 200, even better if you get it under 150. Last year, the opening rank for CSE in Jadavpur University was 1, where the closing rank was 195. That is all. You can check the official OR-CR here.

NIMCET 2018 eligibility criteria:
Student must be an Indian citizen. Student must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scales and 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale. In case of (SC/ ST) in B.Sc / B.Sc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time with Mathematics or Statistics or Equivalent subject as one of the subject from a recognized University. Students with BE/B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University can give the exam. Students who will be appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply for NIMCET-2018. If you are doing B.Tech, why do you want to change the field of study from technical to non-technical? It is better to continue B.Tech, and if you really want to do MA, refer to university website for eligibility.
