Yes, there is a provision of lateral entry in which most students either Diploma students or other students from other colleges can join. It is a very normal process for taking admission in 2nd year.

If your aim is teaching, B.Sc and M.Sc would be surely enough for it. But if you want a decent placement and a job, you should definitely consider B.Tech. You can apply for various universities providing B.Tech degrees and then proceed.

B.Arch or B.Plan is required to pursue M.Plan. Hence you are eligible for this course.

B.Tech through distance is not a luxury any more. The supreme course has ordered against it and AICTE doesn't recognise such courses. Hence, not possible.

AMIE doesn't offer B.Tech, first of all, and neither it is valid. It is not recognised by AICTE and is a complete waste. BCA from SMU is also a waste as SMU is not a very good distance course provider. I would suggest taking lateral entry into regular BCA or B.Tech. Instead of pursuing a distance course as they will not be able to get you a job. I am saying this because I have done courses from both SMU and AMIE (which I dropped) and they are not at all helpful.

CUSAT is a very good and recognised college in Kerala. In fact, I wouldn't recommend any other college than this particularly in Kerala.

Yes, you can change your college in 1st year at any time after it. It is not possible to change the college. If you change the college, you need to take admission again in the college.
